语篇1:北师大版九年级英语Unit 1 Across Culture中Chinese and English

Chinese and English are very different languages. Each language developed along a different path and has a very different system of writing and pronunciation. However, despite their huge differences, both languages are spoken by more people in the world than any other language.

Chinese began to develop around 1000 BC. It has gone through many forms and has many different dialects (方言). Mandarin (普通话) is now the most widely used form of Chinese. English began to develop in Britain around the year 100 AD. Local languages, old German, Latin and other European languages mixed and became a new language. This is why, even today, many words in English sound familiar to people who speak other European languages.

Chinese writing uses a system of strokes (笔画) to make characters, which represent a sound, a word or an idea. Learning to read Chinese takes great memorization skills and learning to write it takes many hours of repeated practice. Words must be learnt together with their symbol, meaning and pronunciation. English, on the other hand, uses an alphabet (字母). Each letter and some letter combinations (组合) have a different sound. Letters are put together to make a word with a particular pronunciation. Once you learn the basic patterns, you can say most new words you see.

Tone (语调) is used very differently in Chinese and English. Chinese has four tones, which usually convey (表达) the actual meaning of a word. In English, tone of voice creates emphasis (强调), follows a pattern or conveys the emotions (情感) or attitude (态度) of the speaker.

语篇2:

The Growth Mindset

One teacher praises a student by saying “You're so smart!” Another teacher says, “You must have worked really hard at this!” Which student does better in school? Studies show that students who hear the words of the second teacher will do better. Those students are learning that their effort is important.

Psychologists looked at what grade school students did after they were given different types of verbal praise. Some students were told that they were good at a task. They didn't try very hard the next time. Other students were told that they had worked hard at a task. They worked even harder the next time. The first group of students was learning that they had a set amount of skill. They didn't think they could do any better. This is called a fixed mindset. The second group was learning that they could do better if they kept trying. This is called a growth mindset. People who have a growth mindset believe that the brain can grow; people can do better and learn new skills. If they work hard, they can be successful.

How can teachers and parents help students succeed? They can focus primarily on effort and not simply on ability. When students succeed, teachers and parents should praise the actual work put forth rather than intelligence or talent. When students fail, they should be told how they can do better. Teachers, parents, and students need to value effort, not intelligence.

AI (人工智能) can help teenagers and students learn in several ways.

Personalized learning

AI can know better about students, including their advantages, weaknesses, skills, learning favorites, learning needs, and so on. Then it can create a proper learning plan for each student. This can help students concentrate on areas that they need to improve at their own speed.

Interactive (交互的) learning

AI has the ability to make learning more interactive and interesting. Things like interactive learning apps and educational games can make subject learning more interesting. What’s more, they can make students interested in a subject at once. This kind of active learning is sure to be more helpful than studying alone.

Automated (自动的) advice and help

AI can provide automated advice and answers to questions. It can examine students’ work and provide personalized help. For example, ChatGPT can answer students’ questions quickly in a private, low-pressure way. This kind of advice and answers can help students better understand knowledge and use their knowledge.

Greater resources (资源)

AI can make many of the students’ learning resources richer and wider, like electronic textbooks, online courses, and study apps. For example, a biology textbook with AI technology may provide interactive 3D models of a human body that students can study more carefully. AI can provide interactive examples, introduce important passages, and offer assessments (评价).

In a word, AI has a great ability to improve studying and learning. By using AI, students can study smarter and reach higher levels of learning and success. The future of AI in education is hopeful as technologies continue to develop.
