附绘本Emma's Birthday文本:
Today is Emma's birthday. She can't wait to see her presents.
“I wonder what I will get.”
When she gets up, the breakfast is ready. There's a note on the table. Emma is sad.
It seems that her parents have forgotten her birthday.
Emma waits for the school bus. Some say hello to her, but no one says happy birthday.
At the school gate, she meets her best friend Alice. Even Alice forgets her birthday. “Are you going to the Ping-Pong club later?” asks Alice. Emma loves to play Ping-Pong.
At school Emma feels unhappy all day. No one remembers her birthday!
“No. It's not on tonight.”
At last school finishes. Her mum is waiting outside the school.
Emma hopes that Mum will say happy birthday to her. But Mum only rushes to get in the car.
There's a big box in the car. Emma wonders what it is.
“Please don't open it.”
Mum is not driving back home. “Where are we going?” asks Emma. “It's not very far,” Mum smiles.
On the way Emma sees the new swimming pool. She can swim really well. Are they going to the new pool?
Emma also likes to play basketball. But they don't stop at the basketball court.
“We're going to a concert!” says Emma, who loves to sing and play the guitar. But Mum drives on.
At last Mum stops at the Ping-Pong club. “But the club is closed today!” says Emma.
Mum carries the box into the club. Emma follows her. “Why are we here?” asks Emma.
Mum turns on the light and Emma gets a big surprise!
“Happy birthday, Emma!”
Inside the box is a beautiful cake. “Sorry for our trick,” Dad smiles. “You know we'd never really forget your birthday!”
