Who was Yuan Longping?
Yuan Longping was a Chinese rice scientist. He was born in 1930 in Beijing. He passed away in 2021 in Changsha. He did a lot of studies on rice. People call him the father of hybrid rice.
How did his dreams come true?
Yuan liked farming at an early age. When he grew up, he studied farming. In 1964, he began to work on hybrid rice. It was very difficult, but he never gave up. He worked hard and always stayed in the fields. He developed hybrid rice in 1973. Now hybrid rice grows in China and many other countries. It feeds people all over the world.

Tu Youyou is a great Chinese scientist. She was born in 1930 in Ningbo. She studied medicine when she was young.

In 2015, Tu Youyou won the Nobel Prize. She was the first Chinese woman to win this prize. People all over the world know her name.
